What IRCC asks for when a document is not in English or French
For each document in Spanish, IRCC asks for its translation into English or French, stamps included. You can't do the translation yourself, and neither can a family member or your immigration representative or consultant.
When the translation is done outside Canada, IRCC asks for it to be done by a translator accredited in that country. In Colombia, that is an official translator, like the ones who sign ours.
What about the affidavit?
IRCC's guide says that when the translator is not a certified translator in Canada, the translation comes with an affidavit from the translator, sworn before a notary.
If your application or your agency asks for one, we take care of it: we prepare the affidavit and sign it before a notary for each document. Its price is in your quote.
